Where will the title head? Will it be into the hands of Sebastian Vettel or will it be Lewis Hamilton? Ever since F1 resumed after the summer break, Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes have taken a major stride towards acquiring their respective 4th World Championships, thanks to raw pace as witnessed at Spa and Monza as well as a few self-induced critical errors made by Ferrari and Vettel in Singapore and Malaysia. The 14 points deficit in the championship has now turned into a 34 point lead. Such has been the turn of events, that it cannot be described as anything short of remarkable. With 5 more races to go, will the pendulum swing again ? or will Hamilton and Mercedes prove to be unstoppable? There are a lot of questions yet to be answered. However, if we are to go by the recent trend, we will have a new 4 time world Champion at the end of the year. A look into the next four venues tells us a similar story. Mexico and Sao Paulo are power circuits and you just don’t want to bet against Mercedes sealing one- two finish. Then, there is Suzuka, COTA and Yas- Marina. These two circuits might offer Ferrari some hope but the Silver arrows have won the previous 3 races that have taken place at those 3 circuits. Add to the fact the ever improving Red Bulls waiting on their wings (excuse me for the pun) to pounce on any slip up just as we saw one in Malaysia, it makes it even more intriguing for the Maranello based outfit. The engine penalty that awaits for Sebastian won’t do them any good whatsoever. It all looks so simple for Hamilton, doesn’t it? But trust me, he’ll be the man under pressure more than anyone else. He’s got everything to lose now and Sebastian Vettel will do absolutely anything and everything that he possibly can do to overhaul Hamilton. Toto Wolff quoted that the loss of pace in Malaysia is a major worry for the team which means Mercedes could find themselves as the 3rd best outfit in Suzuka. An ideal scenario in that case would be both the Ferraris and Red Bulls finishing ahead of Hamilton. A 5th place finish for Hamillton and a win for Vettel would decrease the lead to 19 points, which is still a big haul to overturn. But you never know, this is the world of Formula 1 where nothing is predictable.
But for now, its Lewis Hamilton the man to put your cash on. Here are our Predictions: Japanese GP: Vettel wins, Hamilton 3rd US GP: Vettel Wins, Hamilton 2nd. Brazilian GP: Hamilton wins, Vettel 2nd. Mexican GP: Hamilton wins, Vettel 3rd. Abu Dhabi GP: Vettel wins, Hamilton 2nd. Hamilton wins the Championship by 27 points .
